I work for Starbucks (have for a few years now) and it's definitely a policy that we're not allowed to let anyone take pictures in the store. I respectfully disagree with this policy, also. I think it's harmless if people want to take pictures as long as they're not being creepy about it or trying to get behind the counter or something. And yeah, the (RED) sign doesn't make any sense according to the policy. But it's Starbucks. They do what they want. Heh.
